Consistent No of entries over the last two years and again this year. Overall, the number of entries is up on our 2023 figures, they have come from every nook and cranny around the country. It just proves the massive interest and love there is for Tullamore Show after the huge demand for trade stands also. Exhibitors will be vying for the gold and silver medals and rosettes in the livestock section as will the bakers who qualified from shows around the country for the Odlum’s All Ireland Home Baking championship or just for the Everyday Baking Challenge an apple tart and brown bread. Then there will be the Bord Bia All Ireland Potato Championship who will be the winner of this.
So many competitions to take place on Sunday 11th August and so much to see the finest intricate patchwork quilts, works of arts and photography and take a peep into the Poultry section to see the finest groomed hens, ducks etc. A walk around the finest Livestock whether it’s Pedigree or Commercial, sheep, rare breeds, horses will open your eyes to the finest in our Isle.
With a growing awareness of the many environmental, social and economic benefits that trees can provide on the farm, a wealth of information will be available at the Forestry and Energy section. A visit to the inventions section is always worthwhile to see the new innovations and adapted inventions on view from around the country. The trade stand area is bigger than ever with lots of shopping to be done whether for home, farm or family or just browsing. The Fashion marquee is a must stop for fashion shows and trade stands. Maybe you could enter in the Best Dressed Lady or Traditional Farmer and be in with a chance to win some of the amazing prizes.
After the huge success of the Sustainable Livestock Village of 2023, it will be further enhanced with a speakers corner this year.
Then after all your browsing around why not take a break, have some food which will be available in the many food villages and listen to some of the music throughout the day. The highlight of the entertainment section will be our very own Olivia Douglas and many more local acts. Children can spend some time in the children’s area after seeing the dogs being put through their paces in their arena.
